Got an HEI distributor on a 350. its on a boat, but lets pretend its in my jeep the engine runs like crap, a noticable fuel or electric problem. While it was running I reach down to check the HEI wires that run from the cap into the distributor. As i touch them the engine gets worse. If i move them, the engine dies immediatly. The harness is cheap and doesnt fit tight into the cap. Is there an upgradeable harness, is this a common problem?
Thanks

The harness should be almost water tight. Have you put some grunt into it! You may not have it all the way engaged. Big Jim
