Jeepete, you just ran the switch pendant from the top of the wheel well to the glove box, right? I think it would be neat to have the option to use the switch pendant from outside the vehicle, or operate the winch from an inside cab permanent switch.
I commonly operate the winch from inside the cab; probably 75 - 85% of the time. Even if you do operate the winch using the 12' switch pendant outside the cab, you may be in greater danger than if you were crouched behind the dash. The remote wireless switch from Ramsey looks like a good alternative, but I wonder how long that magnetic antenna will hold up to being stored and subjected to normal trail activities?
I also have been thinking about installing a permanent switch in the cab. It would be neat to have a round flat knob installed on the dash that would have at least a Out/off/In/disconnect switch positions. Any auto electricians here that have recommendations to do this install?
