Actually I'm not sure. On the 9.5ti handheld remote there is a little led that goes on when the motor is overheating (I think), so I cut that off and added a larger one to add a little conformity to the panel (plus the one that came on it was insanely small.) I imagine there is a sensor somewhere in the motor assembly. When I had the winch apart all that was inside was the solenoid pack, but two wires, red and blue, run to a connector that leads to the motor. From what I remember, there are six wires. Red and blue run from the connector on the side of the winch to the motor. White is power, it runs to a bridge that's connected straight to the winch power wire. Green, black, and brown all run to the solenoids. All except red and blue I just added ring terminals, the red and blue I spliced and soldered. Not a hard job, but I took my time and finished the winch wiring in a few hours, if I had to do it again I could probably do it in less than one. If anybody decides to do this, I'll be more than happy to do what I can to help.
