Well, I was a Vega today. The first one I've seen in years. Not even tubbed out and v8'ed, but it couldn't be the oem motor. I don't think any of the originals made it over 60k miles.

The Vega is in my top 3 worst cars of all time, which includes anything French, and a Studebaker Lark with the flathead 4 (the last is for personal reasons....).

What's your list?

Roll Me Over
As a young kid I remember my dad going through at different times a Vega, a Hornet, and a VW 412 wagon. Good thing he was handy

I had a 1972 Fiat with 20K miles on it at 16...

It never ran. Cracked block.

got rid of my 1980 Pontiac Sunbird last year, worst POS Ive ever had, it never left my property from too many failed inspections. But it was fun doing hood surfing through the neightborhood Oddly enough inspection ran out 9/10/01

I finally got my mom to buy a Toyota Corolla, she is 72. Had a string of winners, Chevy Chevette, Ford Escort wagon, Buick LeSabre. It's hard to get old school buy American to buy a "Foreign" car as they say in the South. She was 10 years old when we were bombing Japan, times change.

I didn't realize we Southerners had a lock on that expression. Is it the expression that's predjudicial.... or the expression of the expression?

All I've ever owned is Mitsus excepting the current DD. And I don't wanna call it that worst yet, since I need it to run for 2 more weeks... so I'll get back to you. But it sure is ugly!

It's not the word itself, it's the inflection and tone of fear with a little bit of flag waving thrown in when they say "Foreign"

Did someone say ugly? I got my first car at 15. Drove the hell out of it. The Beetle does very well on many 4x4 trails. Then rebuilt the motor and rattle-canned it primer grey. Then crashed it. [img][image]http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h194/cmontymonty/IMG_4030.jpg[/img][/image] I painted those black stripes on it when I was 15. I guess I thought they were cool. It was the eighties and I was young.
