I think that the gear ratios are the same (2.7ish?) and they are both chain driven cases. I don't know about the A340H, but the gear ratios for the A340F are: First 2.804 Second 1.531 Third 1.000 Fourth 0.705 Reverse 2.393 That was from an old archived post at http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB89&Number=256769 regarding 3rd gen 4Runners.
