I agree, I'm sure the engineers chose their method for a reason, and that it's not usually wise to second guess them. In this case, I do have to consider the labor involved with replacing the axles since I don't plan on keeping the IFS forever. It would be a good learning experience though...maybe later I'll do it the right way. Too many other projects right now. If I'm able, I'll pick up the spare axles, my ball joint boots are shot anyway. I was just wondering what your concerns were, hopefully some loctite will reduce the likelihood of the bolt backing out. Thanks!
