Motor is idling high... but when i retard timing toward 5* with jumper installed it makes a knocking noise that sounds like it is comin from #4cyl. when i advance it to 12+* the knock goes away, motor idles a little higher but knock goes away... help! thanks kevin 22RE OWNERS CHECK FOR DEBRIS IN YOUR OIL PANS! Would be the place to start, assuming the TC chain was also properly installed. If you have to the right, then you need to pull the cam sprocket off and rotate it a tooth or two. You don't need the shiny link to set this up. Just make sure the crank is at TDC and the cam dowel is at TDC then install the cam sprocket at make sure the dimple on the sprocket is just before TDC.
