I have a 1995 Montero SR but I'm not sure if it's the original factory remote entry. How does the original remote entry look like my has no name on it and for about to weeks everytime I press the unlock button it automatically locks up again. Can maybe someone tell me what it can be. And maybe someone can help me out to reset the SRS aibag warning light that went on when I change my sterring wheel. does anybody has the service manual of this montero?

I just replaced the remote on my 95 SR - MB920014 is the part # from Mitsu. Apparently there were several different remotes for the early SR's. This one has one button for lock & one for unlock, one button is grey & one is red.

Don't mess with your passenger side actuator, the problem isn't there. The problem is in the driver side front door actuator. To test for sure, unplug your driver side actuator and try locking and unlocking your doors. the other doors should work normally without your driver front actuator plugged in. Then you can either get a replacement actuator from M&S recycling for $40 or fix yours. remember, cut the wires inside the actuator, not on the plug from the vehicle side. This way if your actuator motor goes bad someday and you need to get a replacement actuator, you can just plug it in and all features will work like factory. If you have any questions, my cell is 570-499-1402. Also, keep in mind that my montero that I cut the wires on didn't have factory alarm system. cutting those wires may affect your system differently than it did mine, but if you unplug it first and see how it works, then you will know if it is ok to cut them or not. remember, the actuator needs two wires to work, the other two are for signals.
BTW: My 97 SR that Allison and I just bought didn't have any remotes either, but my brother Mark programmed one of his from his 99 just to see if it had the system installed and it does. He programmed my 97 SR much easier than what was described above, something with the right sequence of opening doors and putting the ignition switch in different positions at different times while hitting the valet button on the dash in a certain order. I don't know how b/c he did it and found out from his 99 service manuals or something. I will find out as soon as I can, but he is on a field exercise (military training) and won't be back for a little while.

I have no idea about the airbag light, but the remote looks like this in the 97-99 monteros: I think the older monteros (94-96) remotes may look different, not sure. you will have a red/orange valet button on the left lower corner of your speedometer assembly right under the cruise control switch. 97-99 remote93-97 remote 2
