Lets hear it...What's everyone's opinion on this debatable subject? I haven't seen a post about it yet. They each have their own pros & cons. Detroit with it's all time locking and the arb with it's engage and disengage air system. Some of you even run both detroit and arb. What's the deal? spend more money or spend less and still be satisfied?

Detroit in a front axle and or a rear of a very soft sprung short wheel based cj5 or flatty is not such a great plan.
Front detroits in general are not smart, a ton of extra wear and tear, not mention poor steering at best.
ARB great in both ends just as reliable as any detroit if set up correctly.

Arb is 100% traction when you need it. Detroit is a great locker but Arb is there when you need it and no extra wear'n tear when you don't need it. Plus the sound when disengaged sounds awsome!!! If you do get Arb "independent4x.com" has great steel braided air lines made for Arb lockers with all the fittings you will need included. That with a "jet packs" from Powertank now your talk'n traction. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
