FT trust what everyone says! They do not work well in the dirt.... I always make sure I have some oil in a quart bottle and pour a few onces on the springy parts before using.. The things get pretty stubborn after a few weeks of being carried around on a bumper or even in the back of a pickup.

Mudrunner
I mounted mine inside the CJ7 right behind the front seats where the floor drops down, I used the high lift mounts. it is out of the way and stays clean and mud/dirt free.

Body Damage is Cool
I don't like the hood mount 'cause I like to put the windshield down. Don't like the bumper or side mounts 'cause of potential damage to the jack and exposure to sand and mud. I keep my 48" tied to the roll bar in a vertical position. I used to keep it on the floor behind the seats but it stayed too dirty and damp. Different strokes for different folks. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I've done the same thing as fresno... Cept mines a little curvey now...

Yeah, I run into stuff and I've burried the front bumper a few times. That's why I decided to mount my lift where it wouldn't get nailed...on the hood. Yeah, I can't drop the windshield, but I haven't fixed the roll cage to the floor yet so I can't anyway.
