i would rather not blow up ..lol i seen videos where ther ewas a leak into the passenger compartment ,and a "test " was conducted with replacement refrigerants amd let ssay i'd rather have sack cancer than the roof of my truck blow off and me get killed. plus if you get in an accident and for somereason the system is opened ther eis propaine right in the engine compartment with the possibility of a spark ..no thanks.
After seeing a friend die from sack cancer (as you put it) at only 24 yrs old, I would much rather be blown up, its definately a lot quicker, and probably a lot painless.
Besides the probability of the propane A/C blowing you up is highly unlikely. The propane has a smell to it which wont kill you by smelling it, so you should be able to open the window, or don't light up with the windows up. However by simply inhaling R134 you have already exposed yourself to harmful toxins wether you smell it or not.
In an accident the chances of blowing up are even less than the chance with a leak inside the cab. There is a very small amount of propane used and it should disipitate long before causing an explosion. You would have a greater chance of the battery or leaking gas causing a fire than with the propane, and engine fires after accidents are't that common, even with head-on collisions. Furthermore, if propane was so risky, you wouldn't have propane powered rigs or propane injected deisels allowed on the highway, let alone it being allowed to be used as an refrigerant in moving vehicles. If propane rerfrigerant was a risky venture, the liability issue alone would have prevented it from ever being marketed.
