Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey guys,
Anyone here make their own anti theft devices for their rigs?
I'm looking for ideas.

It should be real easy to put the coil + wire on a toggle switch under the dash..

I keep mine so beat up and dirty that people don't want it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

If/when I get stuck on the trail and I have to leave my jeep, I pull the rotor and yank the fuel pump relay.

A piece of 3/8 chain bolted to the seat bracket with a master lock to wrap it around and lock to the steering wheel.

I do the same thing with a 3' choker cable and 8"logging road gate padlock. I know, the thing is huge. I get crap for it all the time. Call me paranoid. Topless in a huge city with a lifted truck you need to be.
I lock it to the clutch pedal though. The cable is double bolted through the floor under the middle of the seat.

Steering wheels are easy to cut through with a cordless sawzall. Dateline timed it a couple years ago with "the Club", I think it was 15 seconds or less. Wasn't long after that the clutch clubs came out.
Never tried one but nobody has ever messed with mine.

That sounds like a really good idea.

None of the suggested fixes will work with the present common thief, nor will mine which is having your onry as hell Akido sleep in the rig. Present thief simply pull up to it with a wrecker that has a repo magnetic sign attached, hook it up, and move out smartley. Bystanders don't have enough sense to question them.

Ahh... So the best way is to pay some ex marine to guard it (f16 fighter support is optional).

Or to just keep it beat up and dirty looking so no one is the wiser. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
