Wow that contact is a good spanish name is it not? :-)

Arm or Glok

What are the regulations for importing a JDM pajero to Nica?

My wife would like to buy a SWB for her sister in Masaya. I have seen some of the importers show Nica as a destination mostly through El Salvador or Costa Rica ports though.

Thanx for any help

Don't know about the regulation on importing vehicles from Japan, but I'll ask.

There are some companies that import vehicles from Japan and Korea, convert them to left hand drive, and sell them locally. Also, you may find a deal on a SWB or LWB Galloper from a local rent-a-car.

Yea seen 100's of those (Korean)... My Neice's husband owns an ATOS that does 18hrs a day as a Taxi in Masaya and my sister-in-law's sister (talk about extended family) has a Grace that does tour/charter duty.(Hyundai version of 4D56T in a 12 passenger Town-ace like van for those with a puzzled look on thier faces) . Looking back, it was the 2 hour (with detours) drive from Masaya to SanJuan Del Sur that got me hooked on Diesels. We went with 10 people for 250Km on ,what I recall , was $15 US of diesel...

Actually saw a lot full of them (ATOS and Grace) beside a dance hall my wife attended every Sat afternoon (before she left in 85) in Managua that she had to show me.. Oh well Looks like I am Hijacking and ramble now... Time to stop typing...

bill_bly_ca: This may be of interest to you. Today on my way to work I saw a SWB Galloper at the Toyota dealer for sale. They ask $7500 for it, which I think is a bit steep considering it's the base model with no intercooler (not even turbo?), no overfenders, no power mirrors or windows, steel wheels, rear leafs.

Still, it seems to be in mint condition, at least on the exterior, and may be a recent model (2000-2003).
