Well, on to remove and clean the mode switch/range sensor.


iÆve lived with this a bit, and symptoms remain constant:

summary: Harsh up- and down-shifting, when in D Drive. Problem began with only harsh up-shift from 2nd to 3rd, and then progressed to current state fairly rapidly, which has remained constant.
In order to avoid those harsh shifts i can drive in 3rd with no problems, even manually upshift to D when appropriate, and manually downshift to 3 before the trans computer does it harshly.



Cleaning this switch seems worth the try after reading and conferring, especially since some have had success, and the part has a dealer list of $193 American.
