I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Montero SR motor 6G74, and since I changed the steering wheel my SRS warning light in the dashboard went on. Is there anybody who can help me out to reset this warning light.

There is no "reset" for the light. It goes through diagnostics every time your car is started. If it finds an error it stays on. If there is no error it turns off after a short time.

What exactly did you do. Did you put some aftermarket "sporty" wheel on or you replaced OEM. If first, does it have airbag. It prob doesn't then you need to take the bolb out. If it's OEM then check the SRS fuse. Since it has to be pulled out when replacing steering wheel. Tell us more info

Thanks all for your replies.
First I?d disconnected both battery plugs then I took out the air-bag and then the steering wheel because all the leather was warned out. I?d installed the new original steering wheel, and putted the old air-bag, but I forgot to reconnect it electrically and plugged the battery on again and started the engine and the SRS warning light stayed on. I realised that the air-bag was disconnected and plugged the cables on but the light keep staying on. So someone told me that I?d have reset the the SRS Air-bag system; or what else can I do?

I'd let it go for at least 10 minutes. I recall the FSM saying 10 to drain power from computer to drop stored fault codes.

If it were my car I'd just disconnect the negative battery cable then touch it to the positive cable. This drains all the little capacitors in the different modules. Then reconnect and start it up.

It may run poorly for a bit after doing this as it relearns it's fuel control settings.

Thank you very much for your posts.

After I realise that the air bag was disconnected from the electric wires I?d unplugged first the battery, then connected the wires to the air bag and afterwards I?d reconnected the battery, but the light keep staying on.

Yesterday I tried everything. I disconnected the battery for two hours and when reconnecting the SRS warning light didn't even blink, nothing. Then I?d tried connecting the negative to the positive plug and nothing. Is there another procedure to reset this system. Maybe in the service manual of this 1995 montero SR. Does someone have a service manual.

Winston.

I,d readed in the owners manual that the SRS system trickers when it finds an error and once it trickers you have to reset it, there is no other way.
