anyone interested in making there yoters keyless entry from manual locks? I recently installed a viper alarm with door actuators to make it keyless entry. It was surprisingly easy.
but if I get interest i could post some instructions and some pics. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

I put a Keyless entry system on my 94. Granted it came with power locks. But I even wired it up so I can roll down my back window by holding a button. Pretty nice in parking lots when shopping. It's the 4x4 bling bling right thur.

It's the 4x4 bling bling right thur. I am looking into adding keyless entry right now - but I already have electric locks. What system did you end up using? I added one before (like poster mentions that includes actuators) and it sucked! Thanks, CAZ

well i'm an installer for bestbuy so I went with what we sell "viper" I just went with the cheap one b/c thats all I needed. I think the python is similar. but I have access to all the wire diagrams needed for alarms on any vehicle. so if you need one just hit me up. and I will start on the write up ad some pics.

How much does the keyless entry module cost?
I've got a 96 Ranger that I'm doing some minor work (clutch, timing set, etc) on before I start daily driving it. Part of my plan is to weld a couple of brackets into the door and use a pair of 98ish GM door lock actuators to get power locks. Why GM actuators? They're extremely cheap and pretty reliable.
I figure while I'm at it, I might as well add keyless entry... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Now that is an excellent idea. No more holding the @#$% door handle up when closing it (and explaining the process to all those Yotaly challanged). Count me in on the interested. Which model number did you use? Average price? Need an alarm on my Toy anyway....
Thanks!

well for $260 you can get a viper model #350hv and that includes instalation. the door actuators are a breeze to do your self $20 a piece. the keyless part is included in the alarm.
for those that are at all electrical savy its a breeze to do the whole thing yourself, but if bestbuy installs it, they will fix it for free if anything goes wrong with it for the life of the vehicle.
let me check ebay for some info and I'll get back to ya. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
