Getting the Wheeling Fever
I just bought me a new toy, mostly going to be used on my hunting land, so I don't need a lot of offroad stuff, but I would really like some advice on how to beef up the engine to get me a little more beef in the engine department. I also noticed that the rim size for my trooper is 16", is this the factory size rim. Jayson

go to www.calmini.com and check out what they have for engine modification... not much for that engine, but what they have will probably help. I think they offer a cam, headers and a better carburetor.

Not 100% positive, but I think the 87 STOCK wheel would have been a 15x7 steelie... definitely NOT a 16" wheel though.

I didn't think it was the correct size, they are a set of white steel wagon wheels, they look good and should hold up great. I wonder what tire size would be in a 16" rim catagory to match a 31/10.50/15. Right now it is sporting a 265/75/16. Jayson

You might be able to go a tad wider, but with 16's on there, chances are you start some rubbing here and there. Have you got any rubbing now?

You should be able to find a chart out on the web somewhere that will convert the metric tire sizes for ya...

I had a little rubbing in the front, but it was only rubbing the fender flares, I took a grinder to them and then sanded them down smooth, that took care of that problem.

Is there anyway I could email a pic of my ride to someone so they could post it on the board for me, I don't know how. Jayson

Jeeze Pucci! You make it way too easy! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Using the calculator, it looks like what you have is a tad bigger than 31x10.5 already.
