Getting the Wheeling Fever
I just about to break down and purchase a Howell TBI conversion kit for my 89 Wrangler.

Can anyone tell me where I can find one for a decent price or does everyone sell it around the same price? So far, it's been averaging around $1,100 - $1,200 for the kit.

Any pros or cons to using this over the MPFI that sells for $2,600?

Thanks,

Rlbomber

The MPFI will be more efficient at fuel delivery, but not 1400$ worth of increased efficiency. I'd just get the Howell, but I don't know where to find it cheaper than what you quoted.

Directly from Howell will be the cheapest you'll find.

There are alternatives however which use the same GM components. www.affordable-fuel-injection.com where you can either buy complete kits or piece your own together using your own junkyard parts. There's also www.customefis.com which can be DIY or a complete kit, www.diy-efi.org which is a great resource for a do-it-yourself setup, and a bulletin board geared towards International Harvester EFI conversions which I can't remember the URL for. Everything there can be applied to your Jeep. I'll post it if I can find the link.

I bought all the parts except the wiring harness necessary for my next conversion locally from a guy for $85. Even if I do purchase a pre-made harness for $250 I'm way ahead of $1100 and these aren't hard to do yourself.
