If fish scales are fairly accurate it doesn't seem like it would be too hard to build your own test stand though it might get 'interresting' at higher torque loads as the arm got longer and longer


I saw a site where a guy had a lever mounted in a vise with an arm of known length and a measured weight on the end (barbell weights that he measured on a digital scale). I'm not sure how he had the vise set up - I'd think you'd need an outer tube to grip and an inner shaft, and a couple of bearings. Basically a scale or balance, with the wrench forming the other "arm".
