All the 80's carbs are showing there age, best to get a rebuilt. There is no real effective way to fix the BVV except sprint for the $160 part and for that price you can get a rebuilt carb.

The charcoal canisters job is to collect the fuel vapors to reclaim the gas so it should smell <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
