My girlfriend was less enthused than I was, so I figured you guys would appreciate this. I finished the shifters on my Dana 300 tonight. I used a pair from a Spicer 18. I drilled out the holes to 5/8 and used a 5/8 bolt as the pivot pin. I drilled the bolt lengthwise and cross drill it in two places for grease, then I added channels for the grease to ride in and tapped the end for a zerk. I seperated the shifters with a bronze washer and added a castle nut to the end with a cotter pin so the nut wouldn't fall off. I used a die grinder with a cut off wheel to notch the rails, but in retrospect, it would have been easier to notch the rails in a mill when I tore the case down. I only ground a little at a time, then used a wet rag to cool the rails so as not to melt the seals. I put it all together and here are the pics. Enjoy!
