Just to keep things straight, that wasn't me. I haven't seen anything describing how the TPS affects timeing, but I assume since the ECU controls timeing that a TPS failure is causing the computer to set the timeing incorrectly.Maybe those who know more about that can eleborate.

Well, even if that works to get the truck running, you already *know* the TPS & AFM are bad so they'll need to be replaced before it runs 100% right anyway, so it's not like you're throwing money away....
