OK, There are two wires. One blue, one white. They fit into a "T" shaped plastic plug that plugs into the back of the alternator.
Mine just has two spade plugs as a result of a "Repair" from the previous owner.
Can I purchase the correct plug? And can someone tell me which wire goes where?
The crappy manual doesn't have colors on their schematics or a layout of the wire locations in the plug.
(I'm putting my rebuild back together. 2 years in the making, it's beautiful) I'm taking my time to do it right.
The motor's in, just hooking everything up now, but I didn't pull the motor, so I am working with a puzzle. (Piles of bolts, etc.)

I should be able to later. Others may already have an image or know what wire goes where.
The plug may be available via the dealer or you may have to salvage one from a local pick n pull or perhaps someone here will have an extra one they can send you.

I'll cut one from my silver parts truck, just PM me your address and I'll drop it in the mail.

OK, I think I have a plug on it's way, but I'd like to start the new engine today.
Can anyone tell where the blue and white wires go on the "T"??
I guess I could try one combination, and if it doesn't work, try the other, but will I blow up the alternator if it is backwards?
No, I don't think I would really do that. But it is tempting if I knew I wouldn't hurt anything.

Plug dropped in the mail on Friday. I'll be pulling the other parts tomorrow, and the 'bracket' in your email looks like a starter heat shield to me. Doesn't look like a 4-cyl engine part to me, can't find similar on my 5 trucks. Would make interesting post here though...

I'll be looking for the mailman! Thanks.
If I could get someone the JPG, could they post it here for me? I don't know what the part is.
Oh, here's the story. I got my Montero free, had it towed to a shop, and they pulled the motor out because I was out of town for an extended time. The shop gets sold, and the new owner's only going to sell cars, so I am asked to take my Montero away. I rebuild the motor and have this bracket left over.
I can't figure out where it goes. And I can't find it in the manual.
I am not sure how to post a picture.
Any help?

OK, it's been 10 days and nothing is showing up on my doorstep. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />
I really need to know where the blue and white wires go on the alternator. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
Can anyone help? The manuals I have just don't identify the wire colors.
