The gears were custom made and the application was done by Michael "amorgianos", the guy who makes also the lockers. It needed a major modification at the housing of the tcase and also a very special matching of the 'new' gears to the 'old' gears.

SAS project is definetely more ridgit than the IFS and it needs a lot of work to do it. From the other side it is something completely different, because you have still the initial gear ratio at the transfer case. If you upgrade the car to be mre off-road cappable so you need the lower gear ratio at the tcase!

I'm in the works for a SAS. I have some Toyota axles, But I think I'm going to trade for some Dana 44's here in Reno. I've found some for a wagoneer and a scout that look promising.

So far the plans are to run Leafs in the front and lengthen the three link rear. I'll need to make custom spring hangers for the front but need the axles to get the correct spacing, So that's on hold... but I'd like to have everything built and assembled before I start cutting up my sportage.

Once I get the funds to move ahead with the projuct I will keep you guys posted with updates and pictures. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
