what about adding a sammy case behind the kia case? there is also http://www.ottindustries.com/gearing.htm who can basically chop the front output off your kia case and then mate it to a toyota or sidekick or whatever.

There are a few guys on zookpower.ca who have done this themselves on sidekicks with success.... one of the guys being a 16 year old when he did it...

I'm not sure if the Sportage case is chain driven or gear driven, but if it is gear driven, then it is definetely a possibility....

Come to think of it, I think chain driven would work too...

Or buy a toyota case, and mate it to the Kia....

All these require driveshaft mods, but I guess in the long run it;s worth it....

I know in the sammies you could take a gear from the 84 case and mate it with a gear in the newer cases and that would give you a 4:1 ratio... Wonder if you can mate other gears in the Kia...? Any one had one apart?

I had spoken with Michael and he told me the following
Fist of all you can contact him directly at lidios@otenet.gr that is his e-mail.
Some of you as he told me have already contacted him. The main problem is not the construction itself but mainly all transportation costs dye to weight and the currency ratio between Euro and US dollar.
For the reduction of the gearbox extensive modifications on the case have to be made far more than just trimming with a grinder. Case has to be bought here in Greece modified and be send to US, something that due to weight is expensive.
Note that he is not an online shop so aw for the payment goes there is only a bank account that you can deposit the money, and then tryst Michaelà.

For the differential part the problem is that because there is not an big request there is almost nothing on stock, there is some delay..

That is in short the story. Let me at this point clarify something. I have no other interest or involvement or profit on this thing other than my love for Sportage. Please donÆt involve me in any economic transaction. That, you have to deal directly.
All in all I am just anà..interpreter and I transfer all possible questions discussed hereà.
