LandRaider isn't far off here. You'd need an inverter rated for double the draw of the a/c unit to get it started. Then think of how many batteries it would take to keep it running while you went in to Walgreens to print your latest high-flying four wheel drive photos!

I remember being in Walmart one day in the electronics department, and this guy asks me.. " hey.. Im a cab driver, and I would like to use this to plug thins into my car.... will this work for that? And in his buggy is a toaster oven, and microwave. "hahah no bud, you're gonna need a bigger inverter"

With a pickup you could put a generator, heat pump and blower unit. Modify some big flex tube, pull up to someone's house and fill them full of cold air. U-haul could rent them <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
