Hey Guys--I came over to the Jeep side--sold my Troopers that are in the sig line--trying to change my screen name, but can't seem to make that happen...Anyway,
when I came back from wheelin' the other day, there was a strange squeeking sound which I narrowed down to the front universal joint--specifically the "cup-like"(sorry!) attachment between the U-joints on the transfer case side.
I lubricated them with white lithium, and that has worked fine so far.But when I turned the yoke(on the t-case) by hand it seemed kind of rough--maybe the output shaft bearing? Is this normal?-Is it a function of the chain turning the input gears?
I know the answer to this next question ,BUT I have to ask--Can the output bearing be removed and replaced without dis- assembling the Transfer case? Please go easy on me, I'm just asking!I know that normally they are "pushed" out from the other side....Thanks guys in advance, any help would be appreciated..
