Got my bill of landing today via courier - the 1991 SWB XRII will arrive in Canada TODAY! For those of you who haven't seen photos it is EXACTLY like PHIL's, same colour and all.

Still looking for a firm answer - can I use the timing belt and tensioner from a 4D55 on a 4D56??

PHIL (or anyone nearby) - do you want to meet in Calgary when it arrives?

Phil, Neo, do you mind if I ask what the cost was for these rigs? I know you mentioned it before Phil but I couldn't find it in yor waiting thread.

I'm so green w/ envy that Cali won't allow me to import that w/out a ton of cost and hassle.

Figure in $US:
Purchase: $1,500
Japanese broker fee: $750
Shipping: $1200 (containerized - to Vancouver,BC)
Duty: 6%
Taxes: 6%
...add in shipping within Canada, customs brokerage if you don't do this yourself.

Don't forget $100 AC tax. Add in storage per month in Japan if its not quite legal yet. Then of course the Out Of Province inspection, etc once it gets here...

(okay, gotta go hook up the trailer! Later!)

I paid no storage in Japan - that was the problem of the agent there. AC - okay forgot that one! Still, I am hoping this was a good idea - out of pocket will be just around $5500 Can.
Let us know how the little lady pulls, PHIL. I have a 4,000lb travel trailer...

That is cheap considering what you are getting. I want one. Stupid US crap.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Congratz Neo on the purchase!

20 years old or older for the US so that just leaves the Gen1 Pajero for us guys. When the time and money comes I am going to look into a 86 or later Gen1 TD J top

I was looking @ some gen I pajeros on a JDM site in Japan. They have SWB's in Japan going for anywhere from 260,000-300,000 JP Yen. Thats less then 4 grand before taxes. So start saving. Hmmmm maybe I should bring a few over when my settlement comes in.

always working
