Sweet ride. Wanna meet up? I've also got a blue one, a shortie. I can give you some tidbits on insurance too... And I'm just south of you.

Phil

I bought it off a guy in Calgary (trekkerimports.com) who imported it.

I thought I recognised that one from Trekker. Sweet truck! I just told my insurance co that it was identical to the American Montero and they had no trouble quoting me $526/year for full coverage, $500 ded. which I was very happy with. I have yet to even see mine though so I haven't had to give them a VIN.

We definitely have to get these trucks together for a pic.

yea PHIL we could meet up sometime, I just need to get insurance first. I am with Dominion of Canada insurance and they are usually pretty cheap which is why Im with them. But when I was there today they were saying they have never run accross a JDM vehicle yet with a 10-digit VIN. so my broker is talking to the head office in Toronto and getting back to me on monday...im crossing my fingers that it works, its painful looking at the pajero sit in my driveway with no plate on it knowing that I can't drive it. I'm back to driving ol' faithful (my 1988 Ram 50 4X4 with 318,000km haha). I ended up paying $9500 for the pajero. I know I could have got it way cheaper if I imported it myself but I fell in love with this one and I had to have it. the importer I bought it from has another one for sale if anyones interested, its a 1991 aswell but its Automatic

will your insurance pink card say that its a montero though??? because if I get pulled over the cops might not like that and there could be a chance I wouldn't be covered because its under a false name...im so confused,

I was with RBC insurance, but after waiting on them to get back to me for a week, with the truck sitting in the driveway, I jumped ship and went with AMA insurance. Seems like most of the crosscountry companies, esp the ON ones, aren't set up to deal with a chassis number, and as soon as you read it out to them, they get all funny, and start talking to their supervisors, and start stalling. AMA had no problem, and yes its called a Pajero on my pink slip.

Let us know how you make out.

BTW, you have a D50? Cool! Wonder if I ever conversed with you on 4wheeler.ca? Anyways, another Canadian Pajero is AWESOME!! Cheers!!!

Agreed, there are some, but its like anywhere where a whole bunch of people hang ('cept here of course! )

DIdn't realize yours was a stick too! It would be the longer twin of mine in that case.

I think I may be able to jack the torsion bars a bit to even it out...its raked pretty good

You can get them cheaper by importing yourself but you assume all of the risk - the premium you paid was to avoid a delay and to mitigate that risk - I would gladly have paid more for mine, too, if I had been able to see it before I bought it.
