will your insurance pink card say that its a montero though??? because if I get pulled over the cops might not like that and there could be a chance I wouldn't be covered because its under a false name...im so confused,

No, they know it is a JDM Mitsubishi Pajero, but in order to quote me they had to know what kind of vehicle it was close to, and of course the Montero was an easy choice. I described everything about it to the broker, and she was quite familiar with JDM imports, actually. But all the JDMs she had dealt with were little sports cars. My quote as it stands is good until Oct. 31st, but they are going to require an appraisal that they will pay for.

ahh I see...im getting some pretty good info here boys, thanks alot!! I have another question, when I drove it home from calgary to red deer, it was revving at 3500RPM at 110km/h and it drank the fuel too, is there any way I can get it to be better on fuel??? it was $20 from calgary to red deer in diesel. my d-50 with the weber carb on my 2.6 burns not even half that.

Bigger tires. Your truck has 488s, and with the 5sp, the revs are just too high for our highway speeds. I put a set of 33s on mine, and at ~110kmh (gps corrected) I'm at ~3000-3100 rpm.

well the tires I have on it already are 265 75 R16, those are pretty tall tires already, are 33's that much bigger...I thought those were roughly 32" tires. what kind of fuel economy do you get on the highway with those??? better than 1/4 tank from calgary to Red Deer???

Just to be clear, 10l/100km is not anywhere near 33mpg that you claimed elsewhere!!

A buddy of mine had a slide converter at his garage. 10L/100 was 33mpg, imp gallons. Maybe there's an error, I'll have to double check, but either way... it was no "claim", if there's an error in calculations, I'll find it...

Just did some checking...apparently, according to some online converters it looks closer to 29mpg... Truck was doing a little better when I first got it... somewhere in the low 9s per hundred, but its been going up (or is it down?) a bit lately. Tackling the fuel filter this afternoon... want pics, as per your other thread?

In any event, we've taken your original post waaaay OT. Sorry.

Neo, how many clicks have you been able to put on it so far? Is it starting okay on these colder morns?
