My current T100 is my 3rd T100 I've had in the last several years. It's all stock for now, but will be building slowing in the next few years.

My first T100 was purchased about 4-5 year ago. It was an '95 and I had quite a few mods on it. One of them was to remove the elbow and drill a 4" hole in the front of the filter housing. I had plan on buying the cap for it, but never got around to it and just left it open the whole time. Unless you're doing some deep water crossing, I've never had any problems in the 4 years I've owned the truck.

As for performance gain, I really want to believe it was more, but other than the sound, I could not tell the difference. I've always log all my MPG everytime I fill the tank, and it was no difference. And yes, I've even unplug the fuse and battery for some time to supposedly reset the computer on the air flow w/o much success.

If you search around, or if others chime in on their T100, I'm sure you'll have others that may have claim a difference. For me, it was not worth it other than the louder sounds on the intake.

If you have some time, I would say to just try it and see for yourself. The nice thing about this mod is that it's free, or very cheap.
