yeah, a couple...
1.) so, you got a new camera, eh? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" /> nice pix, actually.
2.) you are way too picky <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" /> .
but seriously, folks. . .
A.to fix a whirring sound when the clutch pedal was depressed. . .
. . .byut the the throwout bearing was really gummed up.
i assume of course that the throwout bearing is losing its lube or the lube is getting a little old and fried, and that's the typical sound. which will get fixed when you replace it. i couldn't see any problem with the t/o bearing from the pix.
B.Also, the plate behind the fywheel has a bit of oil on it .
frankly, i don't *see* any real oil problem from your pix, and it doesn't look like you cleaned anything up first, unless you wiped off the bearing retainer plate (?)
what i see looks like maybe grease or such slung around abit by the starter gear. and maybe a little weep at the bottom of the bearing retainer plate at the lower left looking at it from you pix, which *might* be from that bolt, which maybe could have benefited from some thread sealer. i don't know if i'd start correcting every little minor thing, only to open up a can of worms...
it's also possible some of the (little) fluid in the housing is from seaping through the mating surfaces from above.
frankly, all the parts pictured look pretty good, and except for all the labor, would normally be good to go, imho.
one thing not pictured is the
flywheel. how's its surface? my guess is, from looking at the pressure plate, that it is fine, but if in doubt consider getting it checked at a machine shop and possibly resurfaced; but probably just a little emory cloth to clean it up and break any glaze and you'll be good to go.
also, did you mention the pilot bearing?
all my comments are pretty generic...and probably nothing you don't already know. maybe someone else is going to chime in with a year-model-specific direction.
good luck.
