On my 2000 Trooper that has a "newer" engine from Isuzu; It seems to have the new "threaded" PCV Valve on it. If I'm looking in the right place...

I went to local checker auto parts store and bought the Fram FV384 plastic one, but that won't work here will it?

Do these new ones have the same recomended change interval 30-50k miles? Where can I get a replacement for this new metal threaded PCV valve?

Thanks,

-Jared

It looks like you'll be looking for Part # PCV193. That's a deutch number. In fram, it should be FV193.

Edit ... ya, it looks like you're probably correct in that that is the PCV valve.

on my Rodeo 2002, it was exactly like this - a threaded metal valve, in the same place. You probably can use Rodeo 2002 3.2 as a reference vehicle, I suppose it is the same application.

They will last a long time, but I would get into the habit of spraying it out with carb cleaner everytime you change the oil. A quick 3 minute job.

I couldn't locate a "193" valve at the auto parts store or on fram's website. I think I did find a match though, I will have to bring in the old one and do a closer comparison to be sure. When I do I will post the number here for future reference.

I did take the old one out to clean and inspect it. Seems to be in good working order but I will probably go ahead and replace it now anyway.
