Roll Me Over
Next morning, Joe wheeled into camp, and together with Greg, we set off to meet Dan near the trailhead.
[Linked Image]

With 4 well modified rigs, and with Mt. Holy Cross's rep as a nasty trail, there were last minute checks and some serious airing-down.
[Linked Image]

Dan's rig, turbo'd, and very well set up.
[Linked Image]

The three 2dr rigs, not much stock here anymore!
[Linked Image]

The 4 rigs approaching the big rocks. Not to sound like a wimp (oh sure!), I had specifically commented at the beginning of the plans for this Colorado trip that I had NO skid plates on the bottom, and would NOT be challenging any serious obstacles! Oops, and here we were approaching a real skid plate tester!

Who's is the Gen2? Wasn't that Steve Bein's rig at one time?

Great pics Don! I've been enjoying this set of trip threads.

That's greg's gen II. Steve Bein's was a champaign color IIRC.

Cool, 2 DON bumpers. I still like mine. Good pics.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Two thumbs up. Great stuff. Loved to make it to Colorado one day. Good to see a group of Monteros doing what it's supposed to be doing.

That was indeed a very nice all-around trail.

Mitch, I'm not sure you'd make it through to the top with that same rig-configuration now. If you did, you'd have certainly taken some rocker damage without sliders. Greg (w/dual lockers) winched his way through with a bit of banging. I (also w/dual lockers) managed to get my way through without a winch (likely due to driving a SWB) but I think with a bit more banging.

It was a very interesting problem. The whole trail made for a good day. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
