like i said up above, that's the "Accumulator Piston cover" and that thing is known for leaking lots. if you're going to be using this trans, you might consider changing that seal out now since what i read is it is hell on wheels to do when the trans is installed.

there may be write-ups here, but i *know* there are a couple over on planetisuzoo, and the Amigo-2K FAQ has some good stuff on it, too

*of what that Accumulator piston area looks like, parts, etc. (this would be a good addition to the knowledge base on this since i've yet to see such a pix)
