From what I heard the Rancho shocks for the Montero suck. Like Justice stated, even Mitsubishi put KYB's on their Monteros. I just upgraded to the KYB Monomax. It's their Heavyduty shock in their line. Highly recomended and worth the extra couple of bucks for the heavyduty shocks. I bought the set of 4 on E-bay for a good deal and Justice and I installed them in. Installation was pretty easy. The hardest part is compresing the shock down so that it can fit in the mount. You have to hurry and position the shock in place before it expands back out.
