Ok so I was cleaning it up some more a few minutes ago and found a weld that might be where it was shortened,

as you can see it is by the housing and it is on both sides. What does it look like to you?

If anyone has one I wanted to see if you would measure it for me from the back of the flange to the other backside flange (arrows are pointing to spots) so I can compare your measurement to the one I am going to get now:
