Rerouted exhaust, Dynomax Super Turbo on the 4dr Trooper. Calmini header, straighter pipes and a Hush Thrush on the 89RS Trooper. Definitely aftermarket

Yeah, the 99 got a DynoMax(2000 got a Power Vault).
First that factory drum seems liek it wieghed 40-50 pounds... The DynoMax, around 10-15 I would say..the PV, even lighter...
I also re-routed the tailpipe on the 99 as well, though, with the steel rear bumper, I am need to re-route AGAIN..
The less bends the better...

Personally, I prefer quiet exhaust. That's where OEM comes in as the clear winner. And it's size that makes it happen, plain and simple.
My ideal exhaust system would use an electronic noise cancelling system to make it perfectly silent, very lightweight and extremely small.

ANY MORE VOTES/ COMMENTS? as of this post time the vote is 16 - 2 with aftermarket up by 14 (actually it's 15 - 2 'cause i voted for aftermarket to see results and figured i'd be the only oem vote otherwise.
so it seems mostly cost, smaller size for more offroad clearance, and the actual preference for a louder presence.
that it?
thanks bc

My Dynomax isn't particularly loud at idle or cruising down the hiway. Just a little nice noise while giving it some throttle

Cost, performance, etc., as mentioned. You can go with an aftermarket 'turbo' muffler and get lower restriction without adding much noise at all. That's what I did. I also had the exhaust relocated for clearance. ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/Pyro4117/OldMuffler.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/Pyro4117/NewMuffler.jpg) HTH, Jay

www.jegs.comwww.summitracing.comor call around to your local muffler shops, most will have the size you will need in stock, but if you intend on doing any type of off-roading on public land make sure it is not a straight through type of muffler.
2000 Chevy Tahoe nothing special. 1990 Isuzu Amigo, 3" lift, 31x10.5x15 BFG All Terrain (Street), 33x12.5x15 (offroad), Pacesetter header, some ATM rash. More mods to come......

Depends. When I did mine, I needed a new cat too, so it was exhaust manifold back.
