For the most part thats true. BUT they do have "free'er" flowing aftermarket exhausts that are just as quiet under all condtions as the stock. Size is a factor, but baffles and restrictions inside also apply.

This won't give you the hp gains of a free-flow exhaust, but I think its a good trade-off in clearance (size), weight, and performance.
