Wrap a tow strap around that ARB bar and to a tree and back 'er up. That's something like what the body shop guys would do anyway to get the hood open. If the welds aren't damaged, have a nut.

Check your front clip as well.

Glad it wasn't worse; you got off easy.

Why even file a claim? Check into what it will cost you in the long run, if they will raise your premium, and/or if there is a deductible. What is your deductible? Pull the bumper down and replace the hood.

Total estimate came up to $3K. If it would be around $500- which is my deductible, I would cancel the claim, but being $2.5K extra, I think I will take it. BTW, insurance covered ARB replacement. They called someone for ARB and lead time was 16 weeks!!!!

Take a cash settlement for evetything, fix your arb and repair the hood. Save some of the cash for another mod later down the line.....I got into two small fender benders, both times the insurance reimbursed me for my grille guard and both times I kept the money and just bent in back into shape.....

had very simular dammage to my silver 2000 troop. they paid for a new hood, new arb+mods to the bumper, and lights.

So FYI for those with arb's on a 2nd gen trooper and the upper light mounts. cut them off! they will crush youre hood.

also have a look at the bumper mounts. mine where all messed up.

Mine look ok, although after readjusting everything I still have very slight tire-to-ARB contact during turning which did not exist before, or maybe I did not notice.

That would depend on what your state laws are...

It's not illegal to take a deer that is hit by a vehicle in Georgia.

Its legal in colorado but you have to call police or state patrol and get a roadkill permit before you can take it. I'm not sure if its legal to give it to someone else.
