We'll find out soon. It just dawned on me today that it could actually be the problem. Hope to get to it tomorrow.

But, I thought they just plugged into the OEM harness. Could this be an issue?

while you're in there, take a look around for any loose connectors. it sounds from your first post that you had someone install the cd player -- maybe they even disconnected something and didn't get it back right.

and maybe it's just plug and play, but i wouldn't be surprised if they did some creative cut and splice.

good luck.

Body Damage is Cool
I disconnected the CD deck last night. The problem remains. I didn't think it was the CD player because it was professionally installed by folks who know their stuff. Something tells me it may be the alternator. My deep water experience was last June, but it may have taken a while for things to get weird in the alternator.

may be the alternator...seems like anything electrical may be the alternator <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

but i'd be inclined first to follow-up on the first-hand experience expressed here and at that automotiveforums link above

and check out your brake light circuit; remove bulbs, check bulbs with ohm meter, check connectors, sockets, etc; possibly clean contacts and reinstall or replace bulbs.

good luck
