The gasket I have on there now is a Fel-Pro rubber gasket -- I didn't use any RTV on it when I installed it almost 70K miles ago. I've never had a leak anywhere in the area until about the last 5-6 weeks (and I'm still not sure it's the valve cover).

I think I'll replace the valve cover gasket, the fuel pump gasket, and the distributor gasket, just to be sure.
