LOL, I just saw there price for what is offered and that you get 21" of travel out of it. Anyone ever go from a non marlin lift to a marlin and able to tell me some personal oppinion's on plus's for it? (maybe more of a justification for the cost, hehe. Gotta convince the other half to allow that money to be spent on it =)

A set of used Jeep Wagoneer springs(44044) IIRC, will lift the front and offer a nice ride with plenty of flex. A set of 1/2ton chevy's in the rear with a new main leaf cut to the desired 4" of lift will finish the rear. Depending on labor for your area, the new longer rear mains should run about $100/pair, the chevy springs $50-125/pair, and about the same for the used Wagoneer springs. This is the set-up on this '85(minus the lift spring, 3" blocks were used in the rear). I want to try to stay away from the block's and my stock one's I got on this truck are actually litterally flat so...kinda why i was thinking of getting some leaf's custom arched, then putting some shock's in too for helping articulate/ride along with maybe a coil. Not so much worried as cheap, but dont wanna go spend thousands to do it ya know? Re-arching stock springs is one thing, getting new springs custom built is another. If you can get some made to meet your needs, that is fine. If you dont mind me asking what kind of shock's did you use? I know that I would need to get new shocks (least i'm thinking I do). That look's not too bad and look's to be you get alot of flex with the same result.

That spring over axle seem's to work really well, ever had any problem's with that setup? I'm looking at going through the same place you did too since they also make custom U bolt's too  . Could possibly give me a rough idea on price for what it cost ya(if ya dont mind).

By the way, if you're looking for a good spring shop here in Oregon, Oregon Spring in Portland is awesome. Union shop, reasonable prices and great people to work with. Very high quality stuff. That might be the shop they were talking about. If you want to order custom springs, the guys at Alcan Spring had the best customer service I've ever delt with. Extremely friendly and helpful. But they are a little spendy.

Front springs were essentially free, half the pack came off the rear axle when I replaced those with the Alcan springs (about $450, shipped, for the set) and the other half of the pack came from a buddy's pickup when he replaced his stock springs.

That shop in Portland doesn't do any type of lift the max they do is a 2 inch by rearching. They wont do a custom spring for me. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Look's like i'm going with the all pro 4" spring or the alcan

So I was looking over at http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/suspension/springs.htmand noticed I could just buy the leaf's from them. So maybe i'm confused some what on the difference between going to alcan or that. It looks to me to be about the same result just two different company's. I've alway's had trouble deciding between company's. I like that alcan gives good customer service, that's alway's a plus in my book. But I hear Marlin alway's getting praised by my wheelin bodies, heh.
