And of course, as always, the photos practically make it look like flat groundà Oh well û trust me; it wasnÆt even remotely close to being flat!

I was gonna say...it looks like you are worried about rolling over on a gravel driveway <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

But I know about how photos screw you when it comes to conveying the difficulty of a hazard. Every time I look at my old pics from Lions Back it looks like a casual drive down a gentle slope...certainly not the sphincter-puckering ride it actually was.

Ohhh, ok....in some of M_A_B's first pics, i was noticing that Mike's rodeo had gotten quite a bit wider in the rear. Finding out that he really has gone to full width is a little intriguing (as in, "I wanna know whats coming next!")

Looks like a really good time. Cant wait to make it there some day.

...but jessica and I are back now, done with the wedding and all, so we'll be back into the swing of things soon. seems like its been forever since we've been out on the local trails.

Congratulations Rob and Jessica! Hope to see you guys again soon.

I managed to get my transfer case droped tonight, and it turns out I can blame myself for installing bolts that were too short <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> It looks like they only had about 1/2" of thread engagement <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Here are the pics I managed to get:

Had a good time as usual. Thanks to Team Turtle for organizing the event. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Something did pop in my front end, appears to be in the diff. 4wd still works, it just makes cool noises every once in a while. I'll have to take it apart to find out for sure. I kept running the trails anyways in 2wd, made it through everything without a strap.

Yeah Jordan, my rodeo is a bit wider in the rear now. Not sure whats next, I've got a few projects on the list.

I only got a few pics, my co-pilot was not real interested in doubling as cameraman.

The hitch on my bumper is about 1/4" from touching the ground. Drove up this in 2wd, good traction there.

what's with the bolts? are they just not up to the stress you all put them under; i mean are they not designed to actually take offroad stress, or is it that the ones installed are inferior quality? or?

is it something we ought to be aware of and 'upgrade'?

This is a common problem for Wranglers. It has to do with the bolts being too weak, the u-joint straps being a bad design, and with the rear driveshaft so short it produces really bad angles when the pinion angle is not corrected.

Well, it wasnÆt quite THAT steepà <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

With Eric sitting on the hood to keep the passenger side planted -- I believe it was Brian ( EricÆs Brother-in-Law) that walked up the hill past me, leaning veeeeeeery far forward to offset the angle of the climb. --- I noticed this and commented that I didnÆt realize just how steep it really was until I saw him walk byà

Brian: ôIÆve gotta say, you sure do seem pretty calm about all of thisö

Me: ôWellà this ainÆt my first rodeoö {* pun / no capitalization intended}

Everyone: <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

IÆve got two photos that IÆve resized from BrianÆs CD that might provide a somewhat better idea of what it looked likeà However, for the time being, I canÆt host them myself û but I could e-mail them to someone <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
