So far I have not worked out the motor mounts, that is next. The engine is setting in there so I can get a feel for where the mounts will go.
The clutch is not an issue, it is the facotry Trooper clutch on the original trans. I am also using the factory Trooper flywheel. Fits just like the factory intended.
The water neck is a bigger issue. I am going to have to make a t-stat housing that moves the t-stat up and out a little.
The vacuum pump is another issue. It was down on the drivers side at the bottom, it will be relocated to the top of the drivers side.
While it is a tight fit and there are some issues, this has been by far easier than I expected. There are more things that just fit than I thought would. It helps going from one GM engine to another.
Its too bad there are not a lot more 4.3L diesels out there to be had, I could create a kit for doing the swap.
I am looking forward to getting this thing done and driving it.
