Really but was it a 4 foot? not a 4'8"
See this is what I am having a hard time with I need a 4 foot 0 and it has to be a bait caster (has the little trigger on it).

Must be a very good friend indeed! If I was very attached to a rare anything I wouldn't let anyone else use it. That's what happens with use and I don't think any are made to last forever though I have seen some that claimed to be "unbreakable" (and the Titanic was unsinkable!) Fiberglass tends to get brittle with age. that's why they use composites these days. I had an antique fishing pole, broke it in two a couple of weeks ago (I abused it horribly). Went to Wally World and bought a new one.
I wish you luck on your quest, but why not have a custom rod made for your friend? Even if you find an exact replacement it won't be his good old lucky pole will it? And we know how they break. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Thing was I was not using it I was moving stuff around in the laundry room and some how I knocked it over at the same time as putting a box on it. And well I feel really bad about doing this.
So you can have fishing poles made? Who does this and how much?

You try contacting Shakespear? I work for an outdoor gear manufacturing company in Seattle and we keep rainflys and parts for old stoves that haven't been made in over 20 years. Who knows, they may even replace it under warranty for you.
