Nice job! You need to get a genII so you can give us some ideas on that too! You're right, it looks OE. Great photo-montage too!

Anyone using Winchline Trail/Fire Line combo...just curious on some opinions if there are any Some of my own homespun ideas here You could go amsteel blue all the way and you should be fine. Only drawback is melt point is pretty low - again not a problem if you winch the correct way. I'll probably forego my home-made idea (yep, two years later and still nothing to show for all my homework ) and save some time and hassle and buy a master-pull line. Offroadonly.com has some nice stuff too but much more $$$. BTW if you used that fairlead on you wire rope I'd replace it or debur and refinish it before putting in your new syn rope. PS Where'd you put the control box? Nice work

Thanks for the input guys. I decided that I will probably go with the Winchline version Trail/Fire line combo. and also got the excel hook. its pretty fair priced and then is able to handle the thermo heat if it builds up...plus i opted for a aluminum spidertrax fairlead so that its smooth...
I thought about deburring the one on there now with the dremel but it will just be sold along with the cable as a package i figure. I only used it maybe 3 times and the cable is already roughing up the fairlead....crazy how quick it does that I am gonna read through your research and see what its all about too...and thanks again for all the input guys....oh and I put the control box in the engine bay right behind that air filter box on the passenger side...tilted at a 45degree up...forgot to get a pic of that... In the next month or two plan on going wireless with it so i dont have to fumble with it at all

When I get the synthetic on it I will post it up in the forsale section probably...not sure yet on price cause it will include the fairlead and hook. I will just have to do some research and see....mainly just wanting to get some outta it to lower the expense of the synthetic.

Well and update on the structural soundness of this mount. We just got done doing a Recovery/Cleanup on a local trail and winched up an old Jeepster that had rolled dwon the cliff and drug it down the mountain. We put a full pull of weight on the mount/winch and not a bit of problems. So it is structurally able to take what I can throw at it I know now. If anyone is wanting one built for their Gen3's these are easily built and shippable ready to be welded to the front with minor work.
