I should have said the manifold for my CJ has a rounded lip cast at the connection point where the flare on the pipe fits, no gasket required. I just looked at it and verified it, I replaced it with a 4.0 manifold which does use a doughnut, and have the old manifold in the garage. I guess you have not had it apart? Do you have nuts on studs or bolts in the manifold? Can you move the pipe at the manifold? Maybe you just need to tighten it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
