Getting the Wheeling Fever
My new 3.0 is making a ticking noise. It is coming from somewhere near the dirver's side vlave cover. What could it be, theis is a brand new motor with less than 1500 miles on it. its not the distributor and if it matters I am running 10w30.

Most likely, the fuel injectors are the cause. They tend to be quite loud.

I heard the same thing after rebuilding mine. It was the injectors. You can use a automotive stethascope? if you're not sure.

My 3.0 runs great and has the same ticking noise. Every 3.0 I have ever owned had that same injector noise. You'll get used to it.

I,also have the ticking noise in the same area but it's a valve. Time to pull the valve cover!
