I'm not completly inept at mechanical work given enough time to read up on the topic and study the parts to know what to do and when. That being said, I need some guidance on removing and replacing the fuel filter on an '02 Sportage 4x4. Feel free to fill in the blanks or correct me where I'm wrong.

I figure disconnect the battery first. That way the pump won't kick on and soak me in gas. Disconnect the lines (will fuel leak from the lines?). Remove the filter(how??). Put the new filter in (ok, that's probably the reverse of the previous step). Connect the lines. Hook up the battery and crank the car.

Am I missing anything?

Yes, I'm boring. I'm looking to change that.
